The meeting of two personalities
is like the contact of two chemical substances:
if there is any reaction,
both are transformed.
― Carl Jung
Two different crops of the same image. I find the first more interesting, the second more intimate, but maybe a shade … clichéd? What do you think?
I like the top version. It provides more of a context, the broader world in which the two come together. And the female’s cocked head looks different in the top photo, more of a questioning, skeptical look, a moving back, while the male looks as if he’s coming on to her. The bottom one doesn’t provide this sense of tension.
I like both the photos, but I agree with the comments made thus far. The top photo does insinuate more movement–a coming together to cause a chemical reaction which is more appropriate with the Jung quote. The way that the female’s feathers are in sharp focus and her head seems to be shrinking back gives the impression of defensiveness in the tighter crop.
Good point about the quote. I found it amazing how different the two crops look, although it’s actually the same photo. I dithered for ages, and then just posted both.
I had imagined most people would prefer the more intimate crop composed in the traditional diagonal. But somehow the broader view seemed more interesting to me.
Thanks for visiting!
I prefer the first.
Thanks 🙂
I like both but the first one more. So, sometimes, love isn’t between birds of (the same) feather… Tee hee.
🙂 So it seems…
The first is my favourite too.
