Sixty-some years ago, we lived in a cold climate with short summers. My mother fell in love with tulips and planted so many varieties…ones that looked like fire, curly leaves, straight ones and one time she managed to get bulbs for black ones. This lovely salmon tulip brought back those memories.

Tulips do come in an amazing number of varieties. Sometimes I see some and think these are really the nicest tulips, but then I see another kind … 🙂
